Overview

Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) is a public historically Black university founded in 1892 located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The university features a suburban campus that offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, with a particular emphasis on health sciences, business, and education. Among its academic offerings, WSSU is recognized for its nursing program and has been designated as a Nursing Center of Excellence. The university's application process is moderately selective, aiming to provide accessible higher education while maintaining academic rigor.
