Catawba College

Overview

Catawba College, located in Salisbury, North Carolina, is a small, private liberal arts institution that nestles approximately 45 minutes from Charlotte. Established in 1851, the college?s history is reflected in its campus architecture, which boasts a blend of classical and contemporary styles. Catawba provides a range of undergraduate programs, with notable strengths in fields such as environmental science and education. While offering a variety of majors, it steers clear of being highly selective, maintaining an admissions policy that is moderately selective. Students have access to on-campus living options which contribute to the residential nature of the college experience. Though Catawba is not predominately recognized for its athletics, it does field teams, known as the Catawba Indians, participating in NCAA Division II sports.

In the most recent statistical year 3,199 prospective students applied, and 2,146 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 298 enrolled in the school.  1,076 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 96 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $32,868 plus fees of $0.
