Appalachian State University, set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Boone, North Carolina, provides a picturesque campus environment with a distinct architectural blend of modern and historic facilities. Established in 1899, this public institution has grown to offer a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs, with notable emphasis on education, environmental science, and business disciplines.
