Located in Brookville, New York, approximately 30 miles east of Manhattan, Long Island University's C.W. Post Campus occupies a former Gold Coast estate on Long Island's North Shore. The 307-acre suburban campus, established in 1954 through a donation from cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post, features a mix of Georgian-style architecture and modern facilities. LIU Post, as it is commonly known, offers undergraduate and graduate programs with notable strengths in business, education, health sciences, and performing arts. The campus maintains traditional residence halls and suite-style housing for its residential student population, while also serving a substantial commuter base from the greater New York metropolitan area. As a Division II institution, LIU Post's athletic teams, known as the Sharks, compete in the Northeast Conference.
