Overview

Hofstra University, located in Hempstead, New York, offers students a suburban campus environment within easy reach of New York City's vast cultural and professional opportunities. Established in 1935, Hofstra has evolved into a comprehensive institution that offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs. Notably, the university hosts the only law and medical schools on Long Island. Academically, Hofstra is recognized for its strong programs in communications, business, and health sciences. In the most recent statistical year 23,577 prospective students applied, and 16,346 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 1,710 enrolled in the school.  8,858 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 1,380 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $52,215 plus fees of $1,115.
