Overview

Bucknell University, nestled in the central Pennsylvania town of Lewisburg, is a private liberal arts college established in 1846. The university is characterized by a picturesque campus boasting a blend of historic and contemporary architecture, set in a rural-suburban environment approximately 60 miles north of Harrisburg. With a strong emphasis on undergraduate education, Bucknell offers a range of academic programs across three colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the Freeman College of Management, and the College of Engineering. The College of Engineering, in particular, is well-regarded for its rigorous programs. Bucknell is known for its highly selective admissions process, seeking students who will contribute to and benefit from its academic and extracurricular offerings. The university provides a residential campus experience, with a range of housing options to accommodate its predominantly undergraduate student body. In the most recent statistical year 11,707 prospective students applied, and 3,811 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 1,034 enrolled in the school.  3,760 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 27 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $61,408 plus fees of $338.
