Overview

Union College, established in 1795 and nestled in Schenectady, New York, stands as a historic institution within the small city atmosphere just a short drive from the state's capital, Albany. Characterized by its distinctive Georgian architecture, Union's campus is home to an intimate undergraduate population. The school is historically recognized for creating the Union Plan, which emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach, integrating the humanities and social sciences with science and engineering. Union offers a variety of majors, with economics, political science, and engineering being particularly notable. The college's application process is known for being highly selective, attracting students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
