Clark University, founded in 1887, is a private research institution located in Worcester, Massachusetts, approximately 40 miles west of Boston. With a campus distinguished by its Collegiate Gothic architecture, Clark offers students a range of academic programs with a notable emphasis on psychology, geography, and environmental science. The university fosters a collaborative atmosphere within its compact, urban setting, providing undergraduates with both on-campus housing options and a variety of research opportunities. Despite its modest size, Clark maintains a diverse and inclusive student body. While admission to Clark is competitive, the university is committed to a holistic application review process. Clark's athletic teams, known as the Cougars, do not have a pronounced presence in intercollegiate athletic competition.
