Overview

Boston College (BC), a private Jesuit research university established in 1863, is located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Just six miles west of downtown Boston, the campus features collegiate gothic architecture and provides a suburban environment within close proximity to an urban center. Boston College offers a broad array of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, with notable strengths in its Carroll School of Management, Lynch School of Education and Human Development, and Connell School of Nursing. The university's academic profile is characterized by a highly selective admissions process. On-campus living is an integral part of the BC experience, with a majority of undergraduates residing in university housing. While BC competes in NCAA Division I athletics as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, it is particularly recognized for its strong hockey and football programs. These teams bear the name the Eagles, echoing the school's commitment to high-level collegiate sports.

In the most recent statistical year 40,494 prospective students applied, and 6,748 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 2,335 enrolled in the school.  13,437 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 1,850 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $62,950 plus fees of $1,226.
