Overview

Texas A&M University-Commerce, established in 1889, is a public research university located in the rural town of Commerce, Texas, approximately 65 miles northeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Serving a diverse student body, the university maintains a moderate level of application selectivity and offers a variety of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. While the university boasts a broad array of academic offerings, it is particularly known for its emphasis on business, education, and agricultural programs. The campus is characterized by a blend of traditional red-brick structures and modern facilities, including residence halls accommodating a significant proportion of the student population. Texas A&M University-Commerce is part of the Texas A&M University System and embraces a research-intensive environment while also supporting the athletic pursuits of its students, with its teams competing as the Lions in the Lone Star Conference.

In the most recent statistical year 6,604 prospective students applied, and 5,709 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 973 enrolled in the school.  6,826 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 4,480 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $4,790 plus fees of $5,236.
