The University of Central Missouri (UCM), situated in Warrensburg, is a comprehensive public institution that offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs. Founded in 1871, UCM has evolved to a campus that spans over 1,500 acres, with a mix of modern and historic architecture. Located approximately 50 miles southeast of Kansas City, the university benefits from its proximity to a major urban area while maintaining a smaller-town atmosphere. UCM provides on-campus living through a variety of residence halls and apartments. Known for its focus on profession-based experience, UCM offers popular majors such as Education, Business, and Aviation, with the latter featuring an airport directly on campus. The university has a moderately selective admissions process.
