Eastern Illinois University (EIU) is a public institution located in Charleston, Illinois, approximately 50 miles south of the nearest urban center, Champaign-Urbana. Established in 1895, EIU has a rich history and presents a predominantly undergraduate experience with a comprehensive array of bachelor degrees and select graduate programs. The university's campus architecture blends historic buildings with modern facilities, providing a structured environment dedicated to scholarly pursuits.
