Wichita State University is a public research university located in Wichita, Kansas. Established in 1895 as Fairmount College, it became a state institution in 1964 and is now the third-largest university in Kansas. The university boasts an urban setting, with a campus that highlights 20th-century architectural elements and modern facilities, including on-campus housing options for its student body. Wichita State University is known for its innovation campus, which fosters partnerships with businesses and industries in the applied learning and research fields.
