Overview

The University of Arkansas, located in Fayetteville, is a public research institution established in 1871. It is situated in the Ozark Mountains, offering students a campus environment with a blend of historic and modern architectural styles, including the iconic Old Main, a National Historic Landmark. The university is approximately a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Little Rock, the state's capital. With a broad academic portfolio, the University of Arkansas is known for strong programs in business, engineering, architecture, and agricultural and food sciences. It has a moderately selective admissions process. On-campus housing is available, accommodating a range of living preferences for students. The university also fields a variety of athletic teams, known as the Razorbacks, with particular prominence in basketball and football within the NCAA Division I Southeastern Conference.

In the most recent statistical year 26,219 prospective students applied, and 20,695 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 7,099 enrolled in the school.  25,214 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 5,722 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $7,666 plus fees of $1,990.
