Overview

Pittsburg State University, located in Pittsburg, Kansas, is a public institution established in 1903. The campus showcases a blend of modern and historic architecture across its 600-acre setting in rural southeastern Kansas, approximately 120 miles south of Kansas City. Known for its comprehensive educational offerings, Pittsburg State provides a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, with notable emphasis on its College of Technology and its School of Construction. In the most recent statistical year 2,642 prospective students applied, and 2,277 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 847 enrolled in the school.  4,402 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 1,456 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $6,012 plus fees of $1,958.
