The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a public research university established in 1898, is situated in the heart of Lafayette, just approximately 135 miles west of New Orleans. The university is categorized as an R2: Doctoral University with high research activity and offers a diverse range of academic programs, with notable strengths in areas such as computer science, engineering, and environmental biology.
