Established in 1829, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is a private institution located in the suburban setting of Henrietta, a short drive from downtown Rochester, New York. Known for its career-oriented approach, RIT offers a comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate programs, with a notable emphasis on technology, engineering, and design, alongside strong programs in business, computing, and the arts. The institute boasts a diverse and international student body, with a mix of traditional and non-traditional learners, and it operates on a quarter-based academic calendar. Admissions at RIT are moderately selective. The campus features a blend of modern and postmodern architecture, with significant investments in new facilities and sustainable buildings.
