Overview

Gustavus Adolphus College is a private liberal arts college in Saint Peter, Minnesota, affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Founded in 1862, the college situates on a 340-acre campus defined by its blend of classic red brick buildings and modern facilities. Approximately 75 miles southwest of Minneapolis, Gustavus Adolphus offers a rural campus atmosphere with easy access to urban amenities. Known for a comprehensive academic program with a solid foundation in the liberal arts, the institution maintains a selective admissions process. Popular majors at Gustavus include Biology, Psychology, and Economics, reflecting the college's strong emphasis on undergraduate education across the sciences and social sciences. While residential, the college provides housing options that accommodate the majority of its student body. Gustavus Adolphus does not distinguish itself primarily by its athletic programs, although it competes in NCAA Division III athletics as the Gusties.

In the most recent statistical year 3,781 prospective students applied, and 2,794 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 463 enrolled in the school.  2,031 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 41 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $52,490 plus fees of $540.
