Towson University

Overview

Towson University, located in Towson, Maryland, is a public institution established in 1866. It lies at a suburban setting just north of the bustling city of Baltimore, providing a balance between a collegiate atmosphere and urban convenience. Architecturally, the campus features a blend of historic and modern buildings, with a considerable number of students residing in on-campus housing facilities. Academically, Towson is recognized for a range of programs including business, education, and health professions. The university holds a moderately selective admissions process. Although Towson fields a variety of NCAA Division I athletic teams, known as the Towson Tigers, it is particularly noted for its men's lacrosse team.

In the most recent statistical year 17,770 prospective students applied, and 13,967 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 2,671 enrolled in the school.  15,830 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 3,963 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $7,238 plus fees of $3,580.
