Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, provides a blend of the research opportunities and academic rigor associated with its parent institutions, Indiana University and Purdue University. With a campus spreading over 662 acres and featuring a mix of modern and traditional architectural styles, IPFW serves as a commuter school, although it does offer on-campus housing for students who opt to live within the university grounds. The university was established in 1964 as a result of the collaboration between its parent universities to serve the higher education needs of Northeast Indiana.
