Overview

The University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, Connecticut, offers a blend of suburban and urban campus experiences just a short distance from the state capital, Hartford. Founded in 1957 through the merging of three schools, it has evolved into a comprehensive institution known for its diverse academic offerings, including strong programs in engineering, business, and performing arts. The university?s distinctive architecture, which ranges from modern to gothic, complements its wooded, 350-acre campus where student housing is available, fostering an intimate yet vibrant on-campus living environment. With a moderately selective admissions process, the University of Hartford attracts a varied student body to its seven schools and colleges. While not broadly recognized for its athletic teams, known as the Hartford Hawks, the university does offer a range of NCAA Division I sports programs for student-athletes.

In the most recent statistical year 13,230 prospective students applied, and 10,948 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 1,148 enrolled in the school.  4,403 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 1,329 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $42,851 plus fees of $3,297.
