Overview

University of Saint Joseph, established in 1932 and situated in West Hartford, Connecticut, is a private institution with a Catholic affiliation that offers a liberal arts education to a diverse student body. Located roughly three miles from the state capital of Hartford, the university's suburban campus spans 90 acres, featuring elements of Georgian architecture. The university provides undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs, with a noted emphasis on health and science disciplines, including its flagship programs in Pharmacy and Social Work. University of Saint Joseph maintains a moderate level of application selectivity. The majority of its undergraduate students reside on campus in one of the available residence halls. While the university emphasizes academics, it also participates in NCAA Division III athletics, though it is not principally recognized for its athletic programs.

In the most recent statistical year 1,654 prospective students applied, and 1,238 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 189 enrolled in the school.  1,434 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 558 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $42,050 plus fees of $2,316.
