Livingstone College

Overview

Livingstone College, located in Salisbury, North Carolina, approximately 45 minutes from the major city of Charlotte, is a private, historically Black college with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1879 by members of the A.M.E. Zion Church. The college's urban campus is characterized by its distinctive red-brick architecture, offering on-campus housing for students. With a curriculum steeply rooted in the liberal arts tradition, Livingstone offers a range of undergraduate degree programs with particular emphasis on areas such as business, education, and the social sciences. While the institution maintains a relatively inclusive admissions policy, it remains committed to academic rigor and personal development. Livingstone College is also a member of NCAA Division II athletics, but only specific sports achievements would be highlighted in the context of notable athletic success.

In the most recent statistical year 4,074 prospective students applied, and 2,598 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 217 enrolled in the school.  814 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 25 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $15,917 plus fees of $2,379.
