DePauw University, established in 1837, is a private liberal arts college located in Greencastle, Indiana, approximately 45 miles west of Indianapolis. The university is recognized for its rigorous academic environment with an emphasis on the liberal arts and boasts a selection of more than 50 areas of study, often highlighting programs in music at its internationally acclaimed School of Music. DePauw's campus spans 695 acres and features a blend of historic and contemporary architecture, including East College, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With a predominantly residential campus, the university provides housing options that accommodate the majority of its undergraduate students. DePauw maintains a selective admissions process, seeking to enroll students who demonstrate strong academic potential. The university has no notable emphasis on intercollegiate athletics.
