Overview

Oglethorpe University, chartered in 1835 and located in Atlanta, Georgia, stands as a private liberal arts institution with a diverse undergraduate population. The campus is noted for its Gothic architecture, particularly evident in the grandeur of Oglethorpe's iconic Gothic Revival centerpiece, Lupton Hall. Set on a 100-acre campus just a few miles north of downtown Atlanta, Oglethorpe offers students an intimate educational setting within a major urban area. The university maintains a broad range of undergraduate programs with particular strengths in business administration and psychology. Oglethorpe University is characterized by a moderately selective admissions process, accommodating a mix of both traditional and non-traditional students. In the most recent statistical year 2,816 prospective students applied, and 1,999 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 425 enrolled in the school.  1,410 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 81 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $43,710 plus fees of $280.
