Overview

Furman University, located in Greenville, South Carolina, is a private liberal arts college founded in 1826. Set on a 750-acre campus noted for its Georgian-style architecture and a picturesque lake, Furman provides a scenic environment for its undergraduate and graduate students. Approximately five miles from downtown Greenville, the campus merges suburban tranquility with proximity to an urban center. Furman offers a rigorous academic program with a notable emphasis on the humanities, sciences, and business education. The university practices a selective admissions process. Living on campus is an integral part of the Furman experience, with a variety of housing options including residence halls and apartments. In the most recent statistical year 7,514 prospective students applied, and 5,036 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 647 enrolled in the school.  2,381 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 62 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $55,392 plus fees of $380.
