Overview

Florida Atlantic University, situated in Boca Raton, offers a comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate programs within its 10 colleges. Established in 1961, this public institution has expanded to serve a diverse student body through several campuses, with the main campus notable for its modernist architecture and proximity to the Atlantic coast, less than three miles from the beach. Boca Raton's subtropical climate and the campus's location within the Miami metropolitan area enrich the student experience with cultural and recreational opportunities. FAU maintains a moderate level of application selectivity and is recognized for its programs in the sciences, engineering, business, and nursing. In the most recent statistical year 24,268 prospective students applied, and 19,734 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 4,371 enrolled in the school.  18,734 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 10,858 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $2,522 plus fees of $2,357.
