Overview

Soka University of America, located in Aliso Viejo, California, is a private liberal arts college established in 2001. The university is situated on a 103-acre campus featuring Mediterranean-style architecture, less than 20 miles from the Pacific Ocean and in proximity to the urban offerings of Los Angeles. Soka University of America emphasizes a nonsectarian curriculum on global citizenship and pacifism with a notable focus on Pacific Rim studies and language education. The undergraduate program is structured around a Liberal Arts concentration, with offerings in Environmental Studies, Humanities, International Studies, and Social and Behavioral Sciences, while graduate programs center on a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Societal Change. With highly selective admissions, the university enrolls a diverse, international student body and provides a personalized educational experience.
