Overview

California State University-Stanislaus, founded in 1957, is a public institution nestled in the heart of California's Central Valley, prominently positioned in the city of Turlock. Roughly a two-hour drive from both San Francisco and Sacramento, this university proffers a suburban experience with its 228-acre campus marked by a distinctive blend of modern and Spanish-style architecture. CSU Stanislaus, known colloquially as Stan State, serves a diverse student body and is recognized for its strong programs in business, education, nursing, and the arts. The university offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, maintaining a moderate level of application selectivity. Stan State provides on-campus living options to its students, with housing designed to enhance the academic environment. While not primarily known for its athletics, the school does compete in the NCAA Division II as the Stanislaus State Warriors, with a particular acknowledgment in track and field and soccer.

In the most recent statistical year 6,077 prospective students applied, and 5,871 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 1,032 enrolled in the school.  7,759 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 2,395 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $5,742 plus fees of $1,992.
