Eastern Washington University is located in Cheney, Washington, approximately 16 miles southwest of Spokane. The public university's 300-acre campus features red brick buildings and sits on a plateau overlooking the Spokane Valley and the Channeled Scablands. Founded in 1882 as a teacher's academy, EWU has evolved into a comprehensive regional university, offering undergraduate and graduate programs with particular strengths in education, business, health sciences, and social work.
