Tennessee Technological University, founded in 1915, is a public institution located in Cookeville, Tennessee, approximately 80 miles east of Nashville. The university is characterized by a primarily suburban setting and offers a variety of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs, with engineering being particularly notable among its academic offerings. The campus spans 235 acres and showcases a blend of modern and classical architecture, with facilities supporting a comprehensive on-campus living experience, including residential halls and apartments. Tennessee Tech's application process is moderately selective. Known as the Golden Eagles, the university's athletic teams compete in the Ohio Valley Conference, but the institution is not primarily known for its athletic programs.
