Doane University is a private liberal arts college located in Crete, Nebraska, approximately 25 miles southwest of the state capital, Lincoln. Founded in 1872, it stands as the oldest private college in Nebraska. With a commitment to academic excellence, Doane offers a range of undergraduate programs, with particular strengths in the sciences, education, and business. The university's campus features a blend of historic and modern architecture set on a picturesque 300-acre campus, which includes facilities for student housing. Doane University is moderately selective in its admissions process. While not known for a broad athletic program, Doane takes pride in specific sports at the NAIA level where it competes as the Tigers.
