Concordia University Seward

Overview

Concordia University-Seward is a private liberal arts university affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, located in Seward, Nebraska, about 25 miles west of the state capital of Lincoln. Established in 1894, the university maintains a Christian-based curriculum with a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and pre-professional programs. Popular majors include Business, Education, and Theology. Concordia University-Seward is characterized by a relatively inclusive application process. The sprawling campus is noted for its blend of traditional and modern architecture, providing residential halls for on-campus student living. Its academic programs are complemented by opportunities for hands-on learning and service projects aligning with the institution's religious values. While Concordia University-Seward does offer athletics, it is not predominantly recognized for its sports teams; however, those who participate in athletics compete as the Bulldogs.

In the most recent statistical year 1,605 prospective students applied, and 1,458 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 335 enrolled in the school.  1,431 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 1,616 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $37,000 plus fees of $720.
