Evangel University

Overview

Evangel University, located in Springfield, Missouri, is a private Christian university founded in 1955. It rests within a few hours' drive of larger metropolitan areas like Kansas City and St. Louis, making it accessible for both regional and out-of-state students. The campus prides itself on classic collegiate aesthetics, highlighted by its hallmark building, Riggs Hall, an example of modern collegiate Gothic architecture. Offering a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, Evangel is particularly noted for its comprehensive academic offerings in Education, Business, Music, and Behavioral & Social Sciences. The university practices a moderately selective admissions process. While residential living is a significant aspect of the student experience at Evangel, with a variety of on-campus housing options available, it also accommodates local and non-traditional students. Evangel does not emphasize athletics as a core aspect of its identity but does offer a range of sports programs, competing as the Evangel Crusaders.

In the most recent statistical year 1,449 prospective students applied, and 984 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 343 enrolled in the school.  1,526 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 342 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $25,166 plus fees of $1,234.
