Overview

Founded in 1889, Howard Payne University (HPU) is a private, Christian institution located in Brownwood, Texas, approximately 140 miles northwest of Austin. The university's campus features a mix of contemporary and historic architecture, with facilities that foster an environment conducive to learning and personal development. HPU offers a spectrum of undergraduate and graduate degree programs, with notable emphasis on criminal justice, business, and Christian studies. The application process is considered moderately selective.
