Overview

Cumberland University, founded in 1842, is a private liberal arts university located in Lebanon, Tennessee, approximately 30 miles east of Nashville. The campus features a blend of historical and contemporary architecture, reflective of its long-standing heritage juxtaposed with modern academic demands. Cumberland University offers an array of undergraduate degrees with particularly notable programs in Nursing and Education, catering to a diverse student body seeking a comprehensive educational experience. While the university maintains a moderately selective admissions process, it emphasizes accessibility to higher education. On-campus living is provided through a variety of housing options, which accommodates a significant portion of the student population. Cumberland University competes in the NAIA, particularly recognized for its baseball team, the Bulldogs, which has captured several national championships.

In the most recent statistical year 2,137 prospective students applied, and 1,415 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 629 enrolled in the school.  1,946 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 642 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $25,200 plus fees of $1,200.
