Northeastern Technical College

Overview

Northeastern Technical College (NETC) is a public, two-year institution located in Cheraw, South Carolina, near the North Carolina border and approximately 40 miles from the city of Florence. Founded in 1969, NETC offers a variety of associate degree programs, diplomas, and certificates across notable fields including nursing, business technology, industrial technology, and general education. While primarily a commuter campus, NETC provides students with the opportunity for hands-on experiences and technical training tailored to meet the workforce needs of the surrounding rural communities. The college's educational approach combines classroom instruction with practical application, aligning with regional industry partnerships to enhance student employment prospects post-graduation. The admission process at NETC is open to all applicants, facilitating accessibility to higher education for a diverse student body.

Northeastern Technical College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  240 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 1,226 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $5,088 plus fees of $936.

Northeastern Technical College is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
