Charleston Southern University (CSU), located in the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina, is a private, Christian institution that offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate programs. Established in 1964, the university is situated on a suburban campus notable for its characteristic Southern architecture and provides a setting conducive to academic study and personal growth. CSU has a moderately selective admissions process and is recognized for its nursing and education programs, which are among the most popular majors offered. For students opting to live on campus, housing is available through multiple residence halls designed to support the student learning experience. While CSU participates in NCAA Division I athletics, it is particularly noted for its strength in baseball and soccer. The institution's athletic teams are known as the Buccaneers.
