Overview

Warren Wilson College, located in the Swannanoa Valley of North Carolina, near the city of Asheville, is a private liberal arts institution founded in 1894. Known for its scenic 1,135-acre campus that includes a working farm and forest, it offers a unique blend of academics, work, and community engagement, with a focus on environmental sustainability and social justice. The college maintains an open curriculum with popular majors in Environmental Studies, Creative Writing, and Social Work. Warren Wilson College operates under a moderate level of application selectivity. In the most recent statistical year 905 prospective students applied, and 760 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 192 enrolled in the school.  774 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 19 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $37,500 plus fees of $950.
