The University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) is located in the northern suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri, approximately 20 minutes from downtown. Established in 1963 as part of the University of Missouri System, UMSL's 470-acre campus features a mix of modern and mid-century architecture, including the Mercantile Library which houses rare books and manuscripts.
