College of the Ozarks, located in Point Lookout, Missouri, is a private, Christian liberal-arts college situated approximately 40 miles south of Springfield. Renowned for its unique work-study program which aims to provide students with work experience and tuition coverage, the college fosters a debt-free education. Founded in 1906, the institution rests on a 1,000-acre campus overlooking Lake Taneycomo, providing a scenic setting for its rigorous academic community. Housing is provided on campus, with the majority of students living in residence halls that facilitate an engaging academic environment. College of the Ozarks is selective in admissions, seeking students who align with its work ethic and values. The college is known for programs in agriculture, business, education, and nursing, among other disciplines.
