Overview

Hinds Community College, established in 1917, is a public, comprehensive educational institution located in Raymond, Mississippi, just a few miles from the state capital of Jackson. It serves as the largest community college in the state, offering a wide range of academic programs, from technical and career training to university transfer pathways. The college is recognized for its nursing and allied health programs among other disciplines. With an open admissions policy, Hinds Community College provides higher education access to a diverse student body. Hinds Community College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  4,824 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 4,583 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $3,500 plus fees of $250.

Hinds Community College is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
