Hagerstown Community College (HCC), established in 1946 as Maryland?s first community college, caters to a diverse student body with its campus located in Hagerstown, Maryland, just over 70 miles northwest of Baltimore and Washington D.C. The institution operates on an open admissions policy, offering a wide range of associate degrees, certificate programs, and adult education options. HCC is particularly recognized for programs in nursing, business, and technology, meeting both the academic and practical needs of its students. While HCC does not offer on-campus housing, it provides a commuter-friendly environment across a suburban landscape. Academic facilities are complemented by modern resources, including the STEM Building, which supports science and technology education. While not renowned for athletics, the college engages students in various campus activities and learning experiences tailored to foster academic growth and vocational preparation.

Hagerstown Community College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  1,130 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 2,374 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $5,760 plus fees of $630.
