Asbury University is a private, Christian liberal arts institution located in Wilmore, Kentucky, approximately 20 minutes southwest of Lexington. Founded in 1890, the university keeps its Wesleyan-Holiness tradition and offers a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and online programs, with popular majors that include Media Communications, Elementary Education, and Business Management. The university's application process is moderately selective. Asbury's campus is noted for its historic and picturesque Collegiate Gothic architecture. Residential life is an integral part of the Asbury experience, with a variety of housing options available for students. While the university does not have a reputation highlighted by athletics, students can participate in a range of sports at the intramural level.
