Loras College

Overview

Loras College, established in 1839, is a small, private liberal arts college located in Dubuque, Iowa, nestled within a residential setting on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, just a short drive from the regional hub of Cedar Rapids. The institution has a rich Catholic heritage, with its campus featuring Gothic Revival architecture that contributes to the historical aesthetic of the school. Loras offers a broad array of undergraduate programs, with strong emphases on business, education, and biological sciences. The college operates on a semester-based academic calendar and has a moderately selective admissions process. Housing is available on campus, with residential options that contribute to the college's living-learning environment. In the most recent statistical year 1,860 prospective students applied, and 1,671 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 286 enrolled in the school.  1,228 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 91 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $34,750 plus fees of $1,820.
