Overview

Napa Valley College, established in 1942, is a public community college situated in the heart of California's renowned wine country, approximately 50 miles north of San Francisco. Occupying a scenic 160-acre campus distinguished by its modern architecture and proximity to the Napa River, the college envelops a picturesque environment conducive to academic pursuits. It offers a wide array of associate degree programs, certificates, and transfer opportunities to four-year institutions, particularly recognized for its Viticulture and Winery Technology program. Admission to Napa Valley College is open, catering to a diverse student body with various educational goals, from university transfer to career development. Student housing is not provided, as the college serves primarily local and commuting students. While Napa Valley College has athletic teams known as the Storm, it is primarily focused on academics rather than having a notable intercollegiate athletic program.

Napa Valley College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  1,442 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 2,599 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $1,104 plus fees of $52.
