Apart from an urban experience, the off-campus housing near campus is high crime thus housing near downtown is inexpensive. MATC has agreement for on-campus housing with UW-Milwaukee that's on the pricey side. The Downtown campus is on locked down at least once a semester and despite the police Department across the street response time is slow for locked downs. The School has been losing money as people have to work and can't afford school anymore and has had a short fall off over half a million. I know this as a student government member we had to cut or budget by half over the last year then being told cut it more this semester resulting in less campus events.
