Grayson County College

Overview

Grayson College, located in Denison, Texas, is a public community college established in 1965. Situated approximately 75 miles north of Dallas, the college serves the city of Denison and the surrounding Grayson County with a focus on technical education and community enrichment. The campus offers a variety of academic programs, with notable emphasis on vocational-technical training, nursing, and the sciences. Grayson College provides students with a range of certificate and associate degree options, catering to those intending to enter the workforce directly or to transfer to four-year institutions. While the institution maintains an open admissions policy, whereby most applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent are accepted, certain programs may have more competitive admission standards due to limited space or specific criteria. The college features a mainly commuter campus with limited on-campus housing options for students seeking a residential experience. Although not primarily known for its athletic programs, the college competes in various intercollegiate sports under the team name the Vikings.

Grayson County College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  1,323 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 2,615 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $2,760 plus fees of $1,372.
