Rhodes is not a big-name school. That said, the academics are vigorous and it hard to simply "get by." The student:faculty ratio is fantastic (10:1) and therefore students enjoy a great deal of one-on-one attention. However, this comes with high expectations that you must be prepared to meet. Outside the classroom, the opportunities available for service in memphis are many and allow students to broaden their horizons, often while earning college credit or acting as Rhodes fellows. The campus itself is beautiful and the college works with students to foster a strong sense of community. While the location of the college in the centre of Memphis may make some prospective students apprehensive, the city is vibrant and very genuine, with ample nightlife and cultural activities available to those willing to explore.
