Morris College

Overview

Morris College, founded in 1908, is a private, coeducational, historically Black, liberal arts college located in Sumter, South Carolina. It operates under the auspices of the Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention of South Carolina. The college's urban campus is situated within proximity to Columbia, the state's capital, approximately 44 miles west. Academically, Morris College offers a range of Bachelor's degree programs with notable emphasis on humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and business administration. The institution is characterized by a moderately selective admissions process. On-campus housing is available, providing students with residential facilities that complement their academic experience. Morris College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  380 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 4 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $14,198 plus fees of $1,560.
